Carol Cox

Executive Director, NSF

Carol Cox joined the NSF Board of Directors in January 2015. Ms. Cox serves as the NuVasive Executive Vice President, External Affairs and is responsible for leading NuVasive’s external communications efforts, The Better Way Back and NuVasive Spine Foundation. Her prior roles include Senior Vice President, External Affairs at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute; Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Corporate Communications at Life Technologies; Vice President of Investor Relations at CareFusion Corporation; and Senior Vice President for Global Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at Barr Pharmaceuticals. Ms. Cox holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a certificate in Investor Relations from The University of Connecticut School of Business.

Sumi Shrishrimal

Chief Financial Officer, NSF

Sumi currently serves as the Vice President of Internal Audit for NuVasive, Inc., a position she has held since November 2014.  At NuVasive, Sumi is responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley, financial, information technology system and compliance audits. She also spearheads operational audits, fraud investigations and other special projects. Prior to joining NuVasive, Sumi has held multiple internal audit leadership and accounting positions in the education and financial services industry and has over 16 years of internal audit experience. Sumi started her career with Price Waterhouse Coopers where she consulted on a wide range of projects in the Assurance Business Advisory Services group and the Transaction Services group. Sumi is a Certified Public Accountant in California and a Certified Information Systems Auditor. She holds a Bachelors in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Mumbai.


Nic Didier

Ambassador, NSF

Nic is a long-tenured NuVasive® shareowner having worked with NuVasive for the past 9 years in various roles including distribution, product management and market development. In his most recent role, Nic served as a Pediatric Deformity Specialist for the TLP Fixation Market Development team. Nic is a former “Cheetah Award” winner and holds a BA in Mass Media Communications and Graphic Design from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Jamie Hagan

Senior Program Manager, NSF

Jamie joins NSF with extensive non-profit public relations and communications management experience, including: social media, video production, branding, and operations logistics. Her most recent role was the Communications Manager for Alzheimer’s San Diego, where she developed and implemented a communications plan to support the organization’s strategic plan and revenue goals. She also played a key role in fundraising activities to support the organization. Jamie is a native San Diegan and holds a BA in Communications from Hofstra University.

  3. If eligible, your request will be reviewed and decided on by the NSF Grants
  4. You will be notified via email regarding the committee’s decision.
  5. If approved, you will work with NSF staff to fulfill your approved grant.
